At the Nur-Sultan International School, librarian teachers organized the READx project, in which participants inspired and shared their ideas about discoveries in reading! The main goal of the project is to promote reading among students, increase interest in reading, and develop public speaking skills.
Students of the 7th “E” class Temirlan Akataev and 8th “A” class Anel Tolegen became the leaders of an unusual project. The speaker was Maksat Zhampeisov, Deputy Director for the Basic School, Sandugash Kozhina, press secretary, Yersultan Toktamysov, 7th E class student, Nursale Esbol, 8th B student, Diazhan Uzakbai, 7th C student.
As a rule, the speech of the speakers in front of the audience is limited to a question-answer, but this time it was completely different. Teachers-librarians before the event handed out two sheets for evaluation. By raising one smiley, the students voted for the book, answering “I will read” or “I will think about it.” During the voting, it was determined which book of speakers aroused interest among students.
At the end of the project, the speakers were awarded certificates. Students also had the opportunity to exchange books. We express our deep gratitude to the librarians for the project, which inspires and develops interest! Be trendy, read on!
