Every September an orientation week marks the start of a new school year not only for freshers, but also for new international teachers. Today’s occasion was a significant first step in becoming well acquainted with the school. The event was aimed at them getting to know some of their duties and rules so that they can get a feel for the overall work.

The induction meeting began with a speech of Ms Assiya Kalmanova, an External Affairs Manager at the school, who extended her warmest welcome to all newly arrived foreign teachers including Mr Edward Anaya, Ms Anastasia Michala, and others and thanked them for accepting a job offer. Together with Ms Aigul Urazahova, a Deputy Principal for Financial Affairs, Ms Zhamal Dauletova, an HR Specialist, Ms Gulnara Beysembekova, the Chief Accountant, and Ms Aigul Karabaspakova, a Legal Specialist, introduced the new teachers to their colleagues, managers and supervisors, provided them with general information on the school’s code of conduct, and work plan for the coming academic year. Ms Kalmanova also explained employment conditions and policies, including: work hours and break times, pay details such as when they can expect to be paid, leave entitlements and probation periods for new staff.

Such events will continue through the first week of classes. Staff members will take new overseas colleagues on a tour of the campus premises, pointing out important work areas, and will provide necessary equipment, email addresses and computer access details.

Our new international teachers proved themselves to be focused and enthusiastic professionals over the selection process and our staff anticipates helping them reach their potential in the new community.
