History
International School of Astana first opened its doors in 2013 with 4 classes and 10 teachers.
In 2014 academic year, school grew to 400 students for twenty classes from grades 1 to 4. In addition, kindergarten for 36 students was opened the same year.
The school has been rapidly growing since 2013. Nowadays we have got 66 classes from grades 1 to 12. The school has more than 1,200 students.
Authorization
International School of Astana is a school that is authorized for all three International Baccalaureate programs: Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program
Facilities
We believe that students achieve their best in a modern, well-resourced learning environment. That’s why the International School of Astana occupies a new building on the left bank of the city.
The building has been commissioned through a team of expert architects according to the concept of high visibility for teaching and learning, which is achieved primarily through the provision of glass-fronted teaching areas and open internal architecture. This approach promotes an open and accountable culture within schools.
Networked desktop and mobile laptop computers are present throughout the school in all teaching and learning areas, in addition to interactive whiteboards. Wireless broadband internet is available throughout the school. The library plays a central role in promoting inquiry-based approach in teaching and learning. There are also sound studio facilities to support learning in drama and music, and the provision of a performing arts theatre, which can double as a lecture theatre. The art department is provided with modern studio facilities.
To promote sport activities at school, there are a range of modern facilities indoor and outdoor.
An on-site medical center is to ensure that all students have immediate access to healthcare during school hours.
